Thyroid ultrasound
Thyroid ultrasound is an important screening and diagnostic imaging modality for evaluating the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Thyroid ultrasound requires no patient preparation and no ionizing radiation. It can provide complementary information to MRI, CT, and radionuclide studies.


Indications for thyroid ultrasound include the evaluation of:

  • Goiter
  • Nodules or masses
  • Thyroid enlargement

How is it performed?
Warm gel in placed on the neck; images are obtained with a small transducer. The exam takes approximately 20 minutes.

Thyroid Biopsy
Suspicious nodules or areas in the thyroid can be biopsied or sampled under ultrasound guidance at our facility.

Scrotal Ultrasound
Ultrasound of the scrotum is the primary imaging method used to evaluate testicular masses, disorders of the testicles and surrounding tissues.


Indications for scrotal ultrasound include the evaluation of:

  • Pain
  • Absent or undescended testicle
  • Testicular torsion
  • Inflammation
  • Mass
  • Epididymitis
  • Evaluation for testicular cancer

How is it performed?
Warm gel is placed on the scrotum. Images are generated using sound waves. Exam takes approximately 30 minutes.
